1/10
Awful. Avoid like the plague.

Warning: Spoilers
This review contains minor spoilers about an awful film. Given just how bad the film is these spoilers shouldn't be a problem to read as they serve to illustrate just why the film needs to be avoided.

This is the sort of film that is only good to watch if you're sitting with a group of friends with something to drink who all enjoy pointing at the screen and shouting at the hordes of incredibly obvious mistakes.

If you were to switch on this movie part way through you could be forgiven for assuming for the first few minutes that it was supposed to be a spoof of disaster movies. Unfortunately this is not the case and instead it is supposed to be a serious science fiction film.

However, this film seems to contain little to no science and there are many parts that would fall into the trope of "You Fail Physics Forever" such as a mind breaking scene where a radio-telescope is re-purposed in a few hours on the countdown to create a jamming signal by producing electromagnetic waves targeted at Stonehenge that as the wavelength is altered moves from radio through audible to visible light (creating an aura of light in the air at Stonehenge) and then finally gamma rays! It is discovered that the only thing that can save the world is currently located in the hands of a fanatic who has already killed one officer and he is now with his armed followers in the US the decision is taken to send in four police officers instead of, say, the entire National Guard to obtain the only object that can save the world.

It should also be noted that this film demonstrates why American actors should never attempt British accents. Some of them go through three different accents ranging from generic British to Australian to American and back again in just three lines.

I don't think it can be stated just how bad this movie is. It's not even worth wasting your time watching it on television.
