Springtime in the Rockies...At Least it's Not Winter ***
11 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Nice musical with a very nice 1942 cast. Even a young Jackie Gleason appears as a producer.

The plot is true Hollywood with jealous Bette Grable confronting her fiancé and Broadway co-star over her constant jealousy. The guy in question is John Payne. Grable runs out and goes back to former dance partner and flame Cesar Romero. Payne vows to get her back so the two can do another show.

The action takes place in the Canadian Rockies and with the ever hilarious Carmen Miranda, this time as Rosita Murphy, who as always done an outstanding job in fracturing the English language. Her confusing of fever for favor and stating and how wonderful of her to make my acquaintance is Miranda at her best. As Grable's assistant, Charlotte Greenhut kicks up her great heels and wows us with those long, gawky legs.

Edward Everett Horton as Payne's valet is his erudite best self. He even participates in the ending dance sequence. Short on plot, the film is full of fun.
