Review of Terra Nova

Terra Nova (I) (2011)
2/10
A mixture of Avatar and Lost

Warning: Spoilers
Either im spoiled, or this show is really average, maybe below average. The story lines are flimsy, predictable, cliché and trite. Many actors simply aren't the right person for the role, especially Jim Shannon (played by Jason O'Mara.) There are so many elements in this show that are so bored off, like the father and son that don't get along, the mother that is always worried... Also I would like to refer to the show "Lost" and the way "the sixters" are the reflection of "the others". It was disappointing too see the same style of people they are: wearing worn, old clothes, living separated and being called "the bad guys". Me in person, I really had enough of that thing. Also, how ridiculous is it that Shannon arrives and gets to be the Commanders best buddy and preserver after less than 1 day. .

One thing is for sure: The writers got their inspiration from Avater, maybe from Jurassic Park, and wanted to do something special, but failed - in my opinion.

Let me just enumerate a few positive remarks about the show: You get to see quite nice images, animals and dinosaurs are done good, the music is OK too.
