After being released from prison , notorious criminal alias Mag Dog ( Humphrey Bogart as bad guy) is contracted by his old boss (Daniel MacBride) to help a group of inexperienced thieves ( Arthur Kennedy , Alan Curtis , Cornel Wilde) scheme and carry out the robbery of a California resort.
