LILY (Ludivine Sagnier) is a young woman which lives with her mother in the country side. She's mentally disturbed, not in a large measure but enough to keep herself in her own world. She lives with no concerns and she doesn't care about anyone or anything outside her world. She's free, she loves to be in touch with nature and she's very strong on her own way
But one day (the film starts at this point) her mother dies and she has no one to take care of her, except her older sister, CLARA (Diane Kruger), which had gone to the city, to study and work, and now lives there, together with her husband PIERRE (Denis Menochet). The way she is LILY can't live alone, and by her own, so her sister goes to live with her, in the country side (after a failed attempt to put LILY living "closed" in her sister's apartment in the city
). Their relationship will not be easy, because LILY is definitely a force of nature, but her sister will always be there at her side, and that will for sure cause some damage in CLARA's marriage
I enjoyed this film. What I liked the most was the two main characters (both sisters) and the way LILY is portrayed. She's like a hurricane, a really strong force of nature, and we see that especially by the way the movie ends You just can be together with her or against her! The acting of Ludivine Sagnier is also superb by the way she plays this character; she really does it very well! LILY made me laugh, made me smile, and made me drop a tear from my eyes too She's wild and mad but she's also pure and innocent and completely harmless LILY is as pure as a free human soul can be!
We can consider this film as a drama, but it's a drama that makes you feel good! I score it 8/10.
