Scary premise that degenerates into typical clichéd disappointment

Warning: Spoilers
A movie that unfortunately suffers from typical horror movie clichés of 20 something unknown B rated actors who run around ,scream yell and do stupid things .of course you can also blame a badly written story too. the movie starts off fleshing out the characters .young kids traveling around europe and then eventually into Russsia and then a journey to Pripyat a city evacuated due to the Chernobyl nuclear reactor meltdown. It is now a creepy ghost town and the group of kids and a guide illegally enter the city and explore it . a nice jump out of your seat event happens and the group races back to the van and discover that some wires have been chewed and the guide cannot contact anyone on his walkie talkie for assistance, but instead of trying to hike out while they have daylight, they continue to stupidly use a walkie talkie until it is dark. This is where the movie actually gets quite scary with shock moments and the fear of the unknown sinking in however unfortunately, this does not last and the story and acting go downhill fast. It degenerates into typical Brated horror schlock with kids doing extremely stupid things of yelling into dark areas or going into dark dangerous areas still yelling and without even hand-held weapons like a crowbar or pipe .

The creatures who stalk them are an even worse cliché and finding out what they are ruins the whole thing as this has been done before in better movies. a shame someone couldn't have written a better story and actually had better actors. like with most low budgeted b-rate movies, the creepy locations deliver the goods but nothing else does. the ending is lousy and so predictable that you will see it coming a mile away. 4/10
