Really a unique movie of its kind - not for the humourless
2 November 2012
Many people probably rated this movie low just because they thought of it as being a real horror movie with zombies and were disappointed. Guess what, they were awfully wrong. This movie is a hilarious farce with "the living dead" which plays with the wounds of the finnish society.

Some people take the symbolism very seriously and refuse to understand the meaning of it. For example, it is very common for people to move out of the countryside to bigger towns and in this movie it is portrayed as "zombies" coming to the city and at least one of them trying to find a job and a woman. Well isn't that just life portrayed in symbolic manner? The characters are made really dumb, but that is a way of portraying attitudes and prejudices of upper-class towards the laborers. The red troops who were defeated in the civil war are also resurrected from the dead. I find that idea very bold in a way because anything of the civil war is hardly ever portrayed in movies in this manner and if it is there's always only one truth.

This is really an underrated gem that is hard to find anywhere. It is not to be taken seriously, it is mostly comedy with very little horror elements.
