I found it entertaining

Warning: Spoilers
I guess I have a basically dissenting view of this film. It made me laugh out loud, and that's something I rarely do when watching a movie.

The premise is rather simple. A yuppie couple buys a brownstone in Brooklyn, but it includes an upstairs apartment which is lived in by an old lady...if you could call her a lady. She makes their lives miserable, but they can't kick her out due to rent control laws. Who will break first? She or they? and, there's an interesting plot twist at the end.

This is said to be a dark comedy...well, I'm not so sure I'd quite classify it as that, but it's very entertaining. Both Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore are pleasant and believable here. Eileen Essell, as the little old lady, is quite entertaining, and she really was old when she made this -- 80! Quite a gal! The supporting cast members do their jobs, but no one stands out.

A film to be enjoyed.
