the third part of Mărgelatu series reflects same romantic/slang/archaic image about XIX Romanian century. scenes of fight, dangerous liaisons, old characters and new figures, and, special not, army of Strigoaia. politic is mixed with stories about hate and friendship. and the script gives, again, perfect occasion to actors to create pieces of great puzzle in which the western flavor is part of Balkan atmosphere. impressive - music has its noble contribution -, fresco about society and drawing for revolution ingredients, large scenes of action and brilliant Marga Barbu in a role who remains memorable in Romanian cinema , Misterele Bucureștilor is new proof of a form of entertainment under Communist regime. ironic and ham, it is , however, nice.
