It is really hard to get over all the "soft" voices in this show. The guy playing Kirk sounds like a little boy and has zero charisma and thus will not remind you of the Kirk we all know and love. The guy playing Spock sounds like a little kid also and you lose the command that Leonard Nimoy brought to his lines. James Doohan's son sounds like he is making a joke out of his father's famous role and it doesn't work at all. The sets are cheesy--and they try to be as cheesy as the original--but they are even worse than the 60's versions. The makeup is terrible and it looks like a home video production that someone did in their basement. A better cast may have given this some "umph" that would have made it interesting to watch--instead it is a weak effort that doesn't give the Star Trek universe anything positive.
