An undemanding yet entertaining horror flick
20 June 2013
I haven't seen the first two Night of the Demons films. In fact, I had never even heard of the series when I saw this one. I watched it under the title Demon House so I didn't even know it was a sequel to anything. To be fair, when you take into account that this is the third instalment in a low budget horror franchise it isn't too bad really. Usually by part three horror franchise films have well and truly lost the plot but this one is okay. Its Halloween night and a van of teenagers pitch up at a convenience store where the unhinged member of the party ends up killing a man; they wind up hiding in an old haunted house with a history of violence.

The main thing in this one's favour is that it's fast paced and full of incident. There's nothing new here, nor anything especially memorable but it gets the job done and successfully entertains. The haunted house is the home of a mysterious demon woman who instigates all the unfolding horrors. There's plenty of variety in this carnage and its good stupid fun. In among the gore is a fair smattering of nudity which frankly is never a bad thing really. Peroxide bombshell Tara Sloane was a particularly welcome presence in this area.

In the end Demon House is undemanding but fun.
