Review of Bula Quo!

Sadly this movie is written for children under 10. There is so much potential here, and they just don't even seem to try. The whole idea of a movie centered around Fiji for the world to enjoy had me very excited. Something new always does. I had hopes for this to be a cultural exchange, and though there are some great shots, of the Islands, and the people are truly represented in all of their beauty, and glory, the story itself is just too childish, and not entertaining enough to keep most people over 10 interested for very long. The cast is great, but just not funny. You should expect more from John Lovitz, being that he is a Master Thespian after-all. Good job on the island music, I just wanted to be more entertained between the songs. The skits that the leads perform are intended to be funny, and if they were this would have been a really good movie. If you want a movie that the kids can watch with the old folks (the simple ones) to watch together, then Enjoy, otherwise Avoid.
