A disappointing film
19 November 2013
This film tell a group of teenagers obsessed with celebrity and materialism, who burgle celebrities' homes.

Sophie Coppola has a big family name to live up to, and people expect only the best from her. I have to say "The Bling Ring" is disappointing for me, as it concentrates so much on the teenagers' partying and materialism. Their characters are so hollow, and in fact the whole plot is so hollow that I don't care about any of the characters. Their antisocial behaviour is glamorized, but they seem to live in their own bubble. Peer recognition, which should be important to them and would have made the film a bit more interesting, is not emphasised enough. After all the dancing, partying and helping themselves to clothes and shoes, what a surprise, there is a message for the viewers. However, this message is so brief and so buried under the superficiality of it all. The film is ruined for me already.

If you want to have a glimpse of Paris Hilton's home, then watch "The Bling Ring". Otherwise, there is little reason to watch it.
