It starts off seemingly same as the old ones some people start messing with old rusty here, and he takes his style of revenge upon them. Him making an appearance is something that changes a dynamic a bit with this film, from the beginning point it's something different and leaves a "Hmm wonder what can come from this showcase of him vs him being a shadow figure you don't see." point.
One thing I'm noticing is the other reviews of "They threw just some gravel at him." From that he hunts them down. Well...It's not just a little gravel, it's a good chunk and from that he almost crashes once, then while chasing them the cause him to not only jack knife but stall/over heat his rig...That's a lot more than most have done to his property to date. Plus there is one other note, people note killing just for fun. Ever hear of a killer devolving? He is lashing out at people who did something to him at each time, and now this is a new form of something against him a psychosis that's not something you can just analyze on the fly. If you look at it from an unraveling point of his psyche it's an interesting take that does explain parts of this.
The problems I have with the movie, the plot develops...Slow...There isn't tons of it but what is there is a slow drag through the story, I'm sitting at over an hour in and I'm wondering if much more is going to happen, 5 bodies down, 2 of them at once so took part of it away, another is just a car smash.
The plus side is the kills that are interest are just that interesting, doing things just like the joy ride style of ouch when you watch it happen, the sound effects on one particular kill are just bone crunching goodness.
Part of the ending also kinda made me kinda eh, I know realism isn't something every movie is to come close to, but after being hit by the car that hard, you get up like nothing? Also the car no longer starts? Either you hit the dude that hard and broke bone, or you didn't him that hard and the car is fine.
Over all it's a pop-corn kind of flick, if you're a fan of lower grade horror with some interesting kills, then this is the flick for you. If not then don't watch it really that simple.
