What makes this a bit better than your average movie, are the performers. Mainly Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron. Yes really. I know there are still people out there hating on Zac and if you are one of them, I wouldn't suggest watching any of his movies (I haven't seen the High School Musical ones and stuff like that, so I cannot say what went on with those), because you wouldn't enjoy any of them anyway.
It's not easy holding your own if you have to act along with Quaid, but Efron does a great job. The story about a father and a son who don't seem to have anything in common or anything to say to each other. It seems to be a lost cause and things that happen in the movie do not help making their relationship better ... but make a better movie, with them portraying it the way they do
