Review of The 11th Hour

The 11th Hour (I) (2014)
7/10
The profound nature of a woman
19 February 2015
The first time I saw Kim Basinger was 7 1/2 Weeks, and I loved it! She had these full lips and a sensual look, it wasn't even necessary to be too good of an actress. In the late decade I saw her again, sad, older, not really too demanding in her choices for roles in movies.

However, seeing her at "I am Here", I think she took a great leap. I think she accepted her maturity, and this role was just right for her, and she gave herself 100%.The rest of the cast is there only to make her shine. The exception is Jordan Prentice who interacted with her performance in many ways.

A woman in a desperate need to have a child in her life. She's successful, rich, married, but still empty. Slowly she becomes obsessed with this idea, after failing for ten years.

I would classify this movie as a thriller/horror, rather than just a drama. She hears a voice and follows it. Is she going mad or her nature is really calling even that it's already too late? The movie is complex and not for everyone, but I really enjoyed the dark tone and a little dark humor towards the end. What's the price to make a dream come true?
