While there are some funny moments in this black comedy (mostly due to Ellen Page's manic intensity as the sidekick and a few cameos), there are simply not enough of them to recommend watching this movie.
The spoof of a superhero's film is a welcome relief from the onslaught of Marvel releases, but the excessive and bloody violence committed by the self-made crime fighter greatly detracts from the absurdity of the concept and imparts a harsh reality on the protagonist's actions.
The characters do not evolve in any way so there is no morale of the story. And in the end, the conclusion leaves the viewer with just a bad taste of having wasted 90 minutes watching this movie.
