Indie- Horror at its best
20 March 2015
Caught a secret screening of "A Cry From Within" and was amazed at how well the movie was. Rather than being just another "haunted house" movie, "A Cry From Within" gives us a story, with believable characters, that we actually care about. The film, starts with a slow burn, then out of nowhere, jolts us into the heart of story, and never lets up. The films awesome camera work, really enhanced the uneasiness of the movie. Without giving to much away, the scene, with the toy night vision goggles, and a very dark basement, had everyone in the theater on the edge of their seats. Eric Roberts, and Cathy Moriarty turn in great performances, and their enthusiasm for their roles shine on screen. But the real stars of the movie where Sydney, and Matthew McCann. I had no idea they were both brother and sister in real life, but both steal the show, and really round out the movie.

All in all, "A Cry From Within" is a great horror movie, that choose to do things the hard way, and avoided clichés that have pledged horror movies these last few years.

It's a fun horror movie, and I highly recommend it.
