"Bring me down you try,Feel the pain and keep it all in till you die,Without eyes you cannot cry,Whose to blame?,I can't remember,I…can't remember."

With having enjoyed seeing Dagmar Lassander in the Erotic Drama Andrea,I decided to search around for other movies that the actress had appeared in.Taking a look at a DVD sellers page,I was delighted to spot a title which featured Lassander teaming up with Rutger Hauer, which led to me getting set,for what would hopefully be a memorable viewing.

The plot:

Returning home after spending 6 months in the navy, Rick finds out that his young wife Elke has disappeared.Searching round the city,Rick finds out that Elke has become a heroin addict.Devasted by the discovery,Rick tires to ease the pain by drinking & sleeping with prostitutes.Turning down the chance to enter a serious relationship with Elke's friend Doreen (after sleeping with her),Rick is shocked when he crosses paths with a model whose centrefold has been on his wall since Elke broke his heart.

View on the film:

For the first 30 minutes, director Adrian Hoven keeps things moving at a frantic pace, with Hoven using rapid editing to create an episodic atmosphere,as Rick jumps beds & gets into punch up with anyone that comes his way.Slowing the pace of the movie down, the screenplay by Günter Vaessen does very well at blending jet-black Comedy with bleak melodrama,as Rick's search around the city leads him to uncovering what took place the 6 months that he was away.

Beating up everyone who pulled Elke into her addiction, Rutger Hauer gives a terrific performance as Rick, with Hauer keeping Rick away from simply turning into a slime ball,by showing a real sense of calm come over Rick, when he begins to hope that he has found love again.Hissing on the side, the very pretty Dagmar Lassander, (who also appears naked in the film)gives a great, nasty performance as Doreen, with Lassander showing a real joy on Doreen's face,as she presses down on Rick,to make his happy memories with Elke ones that are hard to remember.
