Hollow Point (1996)
9/10
Thoroughly enjoyable and without pretense
30 April 2015
Very likely the best action b-movie out there. It's fast, funny and never pretentious. Sutherland and Lithgow are at their best, and the meth-head vigilante Max Parrish is a truly unique character. You could not make a movie like this today. Apparently the cast just flat-out refused to take themselves seriously for even a minute, and you can see they are really having fun filming it. The dialogue is pretty poor in the more "serious" scenes, but not much worse than any big action blockbuster. I don't want to hype it up too much. It's a nice movie, just go watch it. I'm all out to things to say without adding spoilers, but I need an additional line to post, and here it is.
