Warning: Spoilers
Having read some of the other reviews it seems like this film is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. I love this film because it is so "off the wall" but still believable to a degree. Perhaps the characters that do fall a little flat are the father and his girlfriend.

The film contains so many facets that it is actually a meaty work IMO. You have the relationship between the brothers who have lost their mother with the elder manipulating the younger. Then there is the romance which is beautifully done and poignant. It left me with a warm fuzzy feeling mainly because it is not in the least bit sentimental showing a feisty deaf girl who refuses to be bowled over by romance and insists that she still has things to do.

The stroke of genius however is the inclusion of the tailor's dummy. The scene where Brooks (Keifer Sutherland) is left alone with the daughter of his father's friend so that they can "get along" had me laughing and cringing at the same time with Brooks, rather than trying it on as his brother suggests, proceeds to fondle the dummy much to the consternation of his companion who eventually flees.

As this is not a widely known film I have recommended it and loaned the DVD to a lot of people and all, so far, have enjoyed it.
