Very rarely funny

Warning: Spoilers
If you are from Germany, you will know that Hape Kerkeling is a huge star here, easily considered among the finest hosts and comedians of the country. However, his films, apart from Horst Schlämmer, are not something of great value. In this pretty confusing comedy film, he plays a man who is soon to be married and if that wasn't enough excitement and trouble already, he runs into 3 homeless Brazilian ladies. They live with him and of course his soon-to-be-wife is jealous quickly. Complete mayhem ensues quickly. Unfortunately, it is almost never funny. The dad gets repetitive quickly and none of the other characters are particularly memorable either. Also, I believe the casting was pretty bad. This may have turned out better with other actors than the pretty much talent-free Alexandra Neldel and Jana Ina in the cast and the unknown actors and actresses aren't much better either. Still, it's not entirely the cast's fault as the script just seems pretty amateurish at times. Kerkeling co-wrote this film with his then-boyfriend and director Angelo Colagrossi, who was behind the camera in pretty much all of Kerkeling's movies. So yeah I am quite a fan of Kerkeling, but I cannot deny that this film from over 10 years ago was not his brightest moment. Admittedly, he still manages to elevate the script and the movie in general with his performance. Oh yeah, and for other Kerkeling fans: Keep an eye out for a new film which will come out soon and is based on his book with Devid Striesow playing Kerkeling. This could actually become good, hopefully better than "Samba in Mettmann". Not recommended.
