Review of Paradise Now

Paradise Now (2005)

Makes you think!
26 July 2015
A slow but rewarding film about the circumstances of two suicide bombers from the West Bank town of Nablus. The two friends, Said and Khaled, are given a mission that requires them to carry out a bombing in Tel Aviv. The operation does not go smoothly and is postponed, creating the opportunity for their intentions to be questioned, analysed and evaluated. No straightforward explanations or answers are provided.

The film obviously highlights the antagonisms between Israel and the Palestinians but it also reveals the debates and divisions amongst Palestinians.
