A Tale Told to an Idiot
19 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This prequel to Series 9 of the revived Doctor Who has a "vamp until ready" quality to it, as the Doctor tells Sir Bors he needs to meditate.

Of course he never gets around to it in this piece. Like a writer fiddling with trivial details so he does not have to actually write, the Doctor spends his, Sir Bors and the viewers' time in doing anything but meditating.

Its very funny, but is it a metaphor for the Doctor? How much of a hurry can a man be when he doesn't know if he's lying when he claims to be three thousand years old? Is it a metaphor for series runner Steven Moffat, who spent the last season not getting much accomplished while he introduced us to the newest Doctor? I suppose this prequel is a promise that now we know who Peter Capaldi's Doctor is, we will gt to hear his story. Let's hope it's an interesting one.
