The Nest (II) (2013)

Very bizarre

Warning: Spoilers
"The Nest" is a 9-minute short film written and directed by David Cronenberg ("The Fly", "A History of Violence"). In here, he also appears as a voice actor as we don't see him while he talks to a patient, who suspects that there is a nest of hostile bugs in one of her breasts. The ending and the location where all this takes place makes obvious that this does not have anything to do with real medicine and Cronenberg is not a real psychiatrist or surgeon in here. It actually made me wonder who's more disturbed: the patient or the doctor? The camera is static and we see the woman with her naked upper body for the entire film. Certainly a contender for Cronenberg's weakest. Nothing good about this one and the only reason to watch it perhaps is how strange and weird it is, something that goes for many Cronenberg films. Not recommended.
