"Manufraktur" or "Manufractur" is an Austrian 3-minute short film from 1985, so it had its 30th anniversary last year. The writer and director is Peter Tscherkassky, so maybe you know already what to expect as this is one of his many experimental films. It is in black-and-white and includes scenes of "broken" footage mostly involving cars. There is no story here, no plot, nothing, but that's not really news for Tscherkassky. I myself am not the biggest experimental film fan, but I have seen many films from the genre that are superior. I personally did not enjoy the watch at all and I was glad it ended so quickly. Maybe you need to love experimental films to appreciate this one, or at least cars. I appreciate neither and that's why I give it a thumbs-down, even if I will admit it's far from the worst I have seen from Tscherkassky. Still, thumbs down.
