Review of The Originals: Awakening

This is "The Originals: Awakening", a 4-part mini-series from 2014, and each of the four episodes only runs for 2 minutes, so the entire thing is 8 minutes long, which means you can easily watch it in one setting. This is connected to the series "The Originals", which I have not seen, and "The Vampire Diaries", which I have seen, and the approach is basically the same as in the latter. It is a mix of mystery, horror and drama with supernatural aspects (vampires and witches) from start to finish. But the only areas where it somewhat delivers are the costumes and set decorations. In terms of stories, acting and memorability, it is forgettable popcorn horror and I give it a thumbs-down. Maybe you have to have seen the shows this is spun-off from, but you never should have to have seen one project in order to appreciate another. And honestly, these 8 minutes here do not get me curious about the shows I just mentioned. Watch this one here if you love "The Vampire Diaries", but maybe also think about your taste afterward. Final side-note: This does not have 6 episodes or a second season as stated here on IMDb. It consists of one season with 4 episodes.
