Dear Zindagi is a desperate attempt at creating a soulful movie. The attempt to show struggles of today's generation hasn't been dealt with properly.
The direction lacks conviction. It seems more like a rushed job to create an artistic movie.
Shahrukh and his charm are intact but the direction and lack of sub plots that build a character fail him. The acting is average, while the ensemble cast is below average.
Kudos to Shahrukh and Gauri Shinde for experimenting, however his movie could have been way better. Alia was okay reprising her part.
