Generally bottom of the barrel Troma release
3 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A typical offering from the Troma stable, this isn't actually one of the films they made themselves (so is free of their typical brand of humour for the most part) but is just a low-budget amateurish effort that they distributed instead. I'm happy to say that it's a lot better than CHOPPER CHICKS IN ZOMBIETOWN (and let's face it, what isn't?). Sadly, this does not make it a good film, and it's not for the usual reasons: the poor acting, the bad sound which makes it near impossible to hear anything anybody is saying, the cheap and laughable special effects (in which tomato soup substitutes for blood), and the incredible lack of plot in the film. I mean, it could have become a good action flick with the right script and direction, but for 90% of this film nothing happens of any note! Just endless scenes of people talking, fighting, and having sex, occasionally interspersed with lots of padded scenes of people surfing! This makes it a very boring film.

There are a couple of things in this film's favour. Firstly, the character of the mother avenger is a good, fun concept and it's fun to watch her kick backside. Secondly, although the mild gore is unrealistic, it's gore nonetheless, so at least that's something. And thirdly, there's a hilarious guy who calls himself Adolf who tries to be scary but just comes across as a greasy pervert. Cult movie fans will no doubt spot Bobbie Bresee in a cameo as one of the gang's mother, but her role is pretty pointless. They'll no doubt be disappointed that she doesn't take her clothes off either (as is her usual method of acting). Also watch out for the fake severed head at the end of the film in one of the few highlights (speedboat runs over a surfer!). Otherwise, give this forgettable movie a miss like with most Troma releases.
