Yep, it's another weird ninja film

Warning: Spoilers
WU TANG VS. NINJA is another outrageous slice of ninja action from Taiwan. The film stars Alexander Rei Lo, no stranger to camp kung fu madness after appearing in the likes of MAFIA VS. NINJA and many other cheese-fuelled fight flicks of the 1980s. This one's not quite up there with the so-bad-it's-good best of the genre, but it still provides enough bizarre entertainment for fans of the genre.

The story once again covers the burning of the Shaolin Temple, with various Shaolin patriots finding themselves murdered and victimised by the evil Abbot White and his ninja gang. White is played by genre mainstay Jack Long as one of the toughest guys ever - impervious to weaponry and the like - and he's a real hoot. Against him is the resolutely fresh-faced Rei Lo, who doesn't even appear in the story until halfway through.

There's a ton of ninja action here, with appearances from a ninja in a gold lame suit and one with a Hitler moustache. Sadly, the surreal elements of the film aren't as pronounced as elsewhere, although one ninja has the ability to turn into a carpet. White strips and sucks the life force from nubile women in a series of sleazy exploitation scenes featuring surprising amounts of nudity for the genre. There's some gore, too, and a nasty bit in which a fighter is doused with acid.
