The Intent (2016)
7/10
Top Boy in a film
20 February 2017
The Intent. From watching the intent trailer I thought the film was about the stereotypical depiction of London street life with notorious gangs however, from watching the films it was a lot better. The intent doesn't contain you stereotypical gangster life love interest with drugs, money but actually touches on a message to the youth who can be attracted the gang life in the inner city. From watching the trailer the story line in the film is actually a lot different and is well- written and is well filmed. The film does feature notable grime artists such as Fekky, scorcher and Krept and Konan who have turned their musical ability quite well into acting. The film use some cultural street life slang references which add to the humour of the film. Many of the cast had appeared in the UK drama TOP Boy. Although the story line was good, more depth could have been added to the story line. There was a lot of talk about this film especially when some of the cast were interviewed on Not For the Radio. It is worth watching.
