Although this is very slow moving, it does hold your attention every step of the way. For once the leading men are not scruffy, stubbled individuals who make it look like there's a shortage of shaving equipment in Scandinavia. The close friendship between the 3 leading men is key to the movie, as the theme of betrayal has even greater impact. The story is solid, and the depth of all the characters explored deeply, no matter whether good or bad characteristics. The other good thing about this series is that it does not have the "preachiness" about global and environmental issues, a feature that seems to be a constant in Scandinavian TV and films. The negatives are really some choppy editing where shots from earlier scenes seem to appear in the scene being watched, with no relevance to the current scene at all. After a while, the extreme closeups of the actors' eyes, face, mouth, lips all become annoying and really lend little to the plot. Overall, it's a great series to binge on!
