A fantastic case for Doctor Hill.

Tony and Alex investigate the brutal killing of a young prostitute, it's a similar killing and those of convicted killer Derek Tyler, but he's serving time in an institute.

This is a particularly strong episode, one of my favourites from the show. The storyline is fantastic, it's such a dark and gritty plot, it's nice to see the development of the relationship between Tony and Alex.

The performances excellent, Siobhan Finneran is fantastic as Shields, her scenes with Green are fantastic. She has a real presence on screen, she's a little sarcastic, has a bit of a chip on her shoulder, she's terrific.

Plaudits also for Andrew Westfield (Derek) who is brilliant, his facial expressions are superb. The scene where Tony presents him with The Russian Dolls and other toys is fantastic. It was nice to see Paula having a much more prominent role.

Quite graphic and a little gruesome in parts, but this episode reminds me how much I miss this show. It's more graphic, and shows some quite harrowing events, more extreme than what's on TV nowadays.

The ending was awesome, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting, the revelation came as a huge surprise.

9/10.
