The first one really got my hopes up for this movie, and I was enjoying all the preview clips. However, this movie really let me down. The music is incredibly standard pop music that's heavily auto-tuned. Seeing real people lip sync to it was jarring. The choreography was good, if a little predictable at times. The high point of the movie for me was the introduction of the character Uma. Her song wasn't great, but it had fierce choreography danced incredibly well by the entire ensemble.
Overall, it was very standard. With a premise like this, so much could be done with the characters. Instead we had dramatic friend breakup songs that led to nothing, a horrendous talking dog, and a whole lot of nothing. Boring and not worth the watch.
