This show is another one of my favorite animated shows of all time, it's also one of my favorite skit comedy shows number 9 in my book. Ok, it's not exactly a skit comedy but since each of the comedy segments on each episode are short it kind of counts. The animation I think is great I wouldn't want it any other way as it's true to the comic strip series. Even the music is good, I mainly like the second theme song to the show I thought was a lot of fun, catchy, and just had lots of energy which fits the show because it really is an energetic skit show. The voice acting is great each actor fits like a glove in their roles. Jon is a fun straight man as he is constantly given grief from both his cat and life. But he's insecure and not always a guy that wins in life though he does try, most notably his love life in which he never has a relationship that sticks either by circumstances or his own foil. He's also not always the brightest bulb despite trying to improve on his life he inadvertently makes a mess of it when he sometimes lets himself get suckered into a bunch of Self Help programs which are all really scams.

Lorenzo Music one of my favorite voice actors of all time is excellent as Garfield. This is my second favorite role from Lorenzo, he is Garfield, every time I read the strips I keep thinking about his voice. Garfield as usual is pretty much the definition of laziness as he really doesn't want to do much of anything with his day except eat, sleep, and watch TV. I can't help feeling when you look at the character real closely there is a very tiny part of him in ourselves, whenever we get out of a stressful day I know that's most of the time what I want to do. However, what I like about him is deep down that big lazy exterior he really does have a big heart if not a heart of gold; he's doesn't always think about himself he does care for others may 'be more so and really does come though when he must, because no one else well.

But what makes him enduring is in his dead pan humor; this guy just like his stomach is just full of dry sarcasm, wit, puns and quotes. At the time when I was a kid I wasn't into verbal humor but more physical and visual comedy, which this show does have. This show was a great start in getting me into it because just like the comic strip series verbal humor is where it truly excels. The show also has a bit of a replaybility factor as there are so many verbal jokes it would take more than one watch to uncover.

And of course really like Garfield's back and forth with his fellow dog Odie whom is a cute mutt that isn't a bright bulb but sometimes can be a voice or non-verbal voice of sensuality when there are moments he points out certain things to Garfield that Garfield isn't aware of or doesn't acknowledge; let alone really is a good number two for him as he does sometimes help get him out of certain jams.

His back and forth with Jon is also great as he or both give each other a lot of grief sometimes inadvertently cause problems in each other's lives much like adding gasoline and oil to a bonfire. But Garfield really is a good friend to Jon, as he does get him out of jams but is also a voice of common sense and reason from the things Jon gets himself into. Really like Garfield reactions at those times where you most of the time see him roll his eyes or even have that look of "how could you be this dumb" it's much like any of us whom have had friends where we see and know they've made a dumb choice.

And of course, the comedy segments are just great each is also something different. Just like in the comic their short and are what they set out to do to be fun and funny; but also, smart but in a good way. There are a lot of memorable segments, I'll just say three of my favorites. "Super Sonic Seymour" this to me is where Jon I feel is at his best, just seeing him doing so many things in one day is funny and exhausting just watching him. But the highlight it because the voice actor playing Seymour is the same guy that does the Micro Machine commercials, listening to his voice is music to my ears.

"Invasion of the Big Robots" this episode really blew me away, I honestly didn't expect it to happen. I just thought it was a cool idea having Garfield inadvertently crossing over to another cartoon show and this was before cross overs became a common concept from the comic books like "Power Rangers and Justice League" to TV shows like "The Defenders". But anyway, it is just hilarious seeing how Garfield reacts in what looks like a Transformer's like cartoon; just seeing this episode makes me wonder what would happen if Garfield crossed over with the anime "Sailor Moon" I'd watch that.

Though my favorite segment is "No Monday's" it is just hilarious from beginning to end because of its absurdity how one lost day of the week can screw up anyone day (seriously no one ever heard of rescheduling); this could have made a good fantasy comedy movie, would of love to see how many more problems this would cause. And this episode has one of my favorite quotes from the show, "RASINS, AHHHHH!"

Garfield is Catastic.
