Born Free: A New Adventure (1996 TV Movie)

New era, new adventures...

Warning: Spoilers
A NEW ADVENTURE is the third and final instalment of the BORN FREE trilogy, and somewhat belated in its production. The basic African setting and the raising of a lion cub are once again the object of the story, but everything else is different. This time around we get scientist Chris Noth (of SEX AND THE CITY fame) upping sticks to rural Africa alongside his kids, one of whom is played by SEAQUEST DSV star Jonathan Brandis. They soon meet and befriend a female doctor and her daughter, JURASSIC PARK's Ariana Richards. The order of the day here is plenty of cutesy animal/human interaction alongside some stock footage and lots of melodrama with the human characters, the kids in particular. It's very predictable but fairly watchable, and I preferred it to the entirely lacklustre LIVING FREE.
