"Erkan & Stefan in der Tod kommt krass" tells the story of two simple men who win a trip on a cruise ship with their beloved tv host but get in trouble when they find him dead and themselves in the roles of the lead suspects.
I expected very little from this film but I have to confess that is was actually better than I feared. There is a rather clever plot constructed in the background and I found some of the (very slapstick) gags to be actually quite enjoyable. You can and should discuss the very stereotypical depiction of people with turkish roots, especially through people who don't have that background and some of the jokes are on the edge of homophobia or sexism but all in all I think that producers still managed to stay within certain borders.
All in all this film is surely not very intelligent but not too bad when it comes to humor and plot. Something to turn your brain off really but there are moments where you need such films.
