Warning: Spoilers
I put off watching this for 8 years. Why, I don't know. In my opinion, this was a well done film and it could have worked on many levels. If they had decided to leave the ghostly imagery out and gone strictly drama, that would have worked also. It had a gripping story that had me leaning toward wanting to see what was going to happen with the family, and caring less about the haunting, but the fact that you get them both also works. So there is more than one way to look at this movie. I felt that it would have been a bit better if they had shaved off the last nine minutes and just ended it with the family driving down the highway, headed back to Bangkok. The flashback scenes weren't necessary and would have given it a cold shocking ending similar to the ending of The Mist. The acting and the cinematography was well done and I was pretty satisfied with it overall. When people review movies and say, I don't get the good/bad reviews for this film, well, you're not supposed to. People have different opinions. You leave yours and move on, not wonder why everyone doesn't think the same way you do.
