Beautiful humor and a message that goes beyond the stereotypical

Warning: Spoilers
Lots of people have praised this movie for its "moral message", but I feel that few have stressed how that message goes beyond your average "everybody is worthy of respect" etc type of moral lessons common to movies with disabled characters. There's also an inspiring moral evolution of the main character, which highlights the importance of accepting responsibility, overcoming trauma and becoming mature, all of which add to the depth of the movie.

The move is also outrageously funny at times, and perhaps one of the movie's biggest achievements is in the way the humor is never targeted at the conditions of the characters, but rather at the situation. It makes you overcome the initial reluctance that may come with watching a comedy with disabled people... you never feel like you're supposed to laugh at them.

I'd also have to disagree with some reviewers who complained a lack of character depth... take Roman or Marin for example to see how they're not shallow at all. Not to mention the main character.

All in all, a great comedy with a relatively complex message and some memorable scenes (thou yes, it's predictable. But that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. And come on, what sports comedy is not predictable?)
