Review of Exit

Exit (I) (2020)
10/10
Exit is the new blood of outsider indie cinema
7 March 2020
As a film director myself this is the first film I've ever reviewed and it's a great one. I love Micheal Fausti's work and especially exit. The film has a space and silence in it which reminds me of late 70s groundbreakers such as sapphire and steel, a great sense of eeriness and unease which I love. Nic roegs genius moment performance is definitely at play here too as is sexy beast, tinto brass, Tara king era of the avengers, and a nice giallo feel. It's all topped off with some bunuel anarchic chic, the final scene reminded me of Tales of the unexpected. Nice performances all round and some humour in among the violence and eroticism. Love the lighting which adds to the claustrophobic feel of the film. The whole film has the feel of everything descending slowly into absolute doom and that's the beautiful part of its menace. The sadistic parts in the film I loved the most. The music also I thought was excellent and fitted well within the film. I highly recommend exit. Michael Fausti has done it again!
