Yes, there is no doubt we are very much of a consumer economy and consumer society, and this is kind of what this movie takes aim at...Murphy plays a Eastern Religious type Guru who basically disrupts Qvc and other type shows.....Suprisingly his unorthodox ways take off and he gets amazing ratings which he is why he is allowed to stay on the air.. Of course, there is a nice romantic twist going on as well....The movie is definitely campy and Murphy has some better movies in his repertoire, but if you just want simple fun, WHY NOT watch it.......
