I'VE GOT A COMPLIMENT FOR YOU...
16 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
PROS:Jack Nicholson captures exceptionally the facial expressions and the mannerisms of a man with obsessive compulsive disorder. Helen Hunt is captivating as the woman who seeks to improve her personal life and achieve something better for herself. Greg Kinnear gives a solid performance but the real scene stealer is the dog. CONS:Many aspects of the film don't age well. It's difficult to accept that a person who is charecterized by bigotry, homophobia and misogyny can transform easily into a kind and gentle being. As a result, the way that the two protagonists fall in love for each other is so unrealistic and kind of awkward. The ''true love achieves everything'' cliche never works and only exists in order to justify the plot conveniences.
