Bad in every way
7 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's almost as if the producers intentionally tried to make as bad of a movie as they possibly could. Boring, dumb, and emotionless. A few of the other reviewers here were mistaken in saying the female lead (Walker as Jennifer) was "beautiful" and other superlatives that didn't fit her at all. She was about as attractive and interesting as a used dishrag. And it definitely was not a love story or romantic either: every time he took his eyes off of her for longer than a minute, she disappeared, leaving him alone, with no warning or thought for his feelings. Yet he continued to pine after her, apparently not realizing there were hundreds of other available girls in the world who weren't flaky and shallow like Jennifer.

Another error in a few of the reviews here state that they had sex. They apparently did not, from what was shown and said in the movie. The only time he tried to, she told him to turn around so she could disappear again without telling him - childish and senseless. And I knew when he went in the church to pray that she would be gone when he came back out, and she was. She was indifferent toward him throughout the entire movie, which was the main thing that made it so boring and uninteresting - nothing compelling or riveting about this modern-day "Of Human Bondage" (Jennifer dies too, but unlike OHB, the movie starts off with her death), where the guy is willing to be dissed, ignored, avoided, and mistreated just to be allowed to spend time now and then with his heart's desire. But of course OHB was a much better movie, in every way. This had no heart or feeling or....anything, actually. Just a boring/blah hour and a half. I couldn't wait for it to be over. DeNiro's bit part was the only good thing in the entire mess.
