It was unfortunate that this was a made for TV production. The screenplay and acting performances were on a par with the best films being made in 1982.
Tommy Lee Jones as Gilmore was also on par with the best Hollywood was producing in those days. Its one of the most intriguing case studies of a criminal sociopath/psychopath I've seen in film.
Its a little sad that this film isn't better known all these years later. I know it was shown in film classes for many years.
