Evil Ed is one of those films you admire more than you really love. For the first half of the movie, it's pretty fun and, occasionally, very funny in its satire of movie violence creating real life violence, but then you realize all it has to offer are great gore effects and it lacks any real heart or emotional attachment to any of the characters. Films like this can work when they keep things light and breezy, but Evil Ed outstays its welcome a few too many times to be as great as it could have been. It's still not a terrible film and might be worth a watch to some who love gore effects.
