Warning: Spoilers
Rock and Rule has it's problems, but overall, it has a fun and interesting world with strange and interesting characters. Many people who have seen this film criticize Omar's character as unlikeable, but I don't think we're meant to like him until the end. He's brash and stuck up, but in my opinion, it makes him stand out. Angel is the protagonist and has a dream of bringing her band up to be great, but is kidnapped by the villain, Mok, who is quite the unique character. His voice is oily and snickering and his appearance just sings a song of glamorous evil. I think the problems with the film are minor when you look at all the wonderful things the filmmakers managed to pull off on a lower budget. There are some pacing issues, some strange audio hiccups and blurry backgrounds here and there, but the animation is of high quality and the original music is all amazing. There are some big names involved in the soundtrack of this film and I wish someone would make a remastered version of the song "Send Love Through" as it is easily the best song in the film. The story is great and the characters are even better. I highly recomend this film despite its flaws.
