Ok I admit I despise musicals , and zapped through all of the songs and dances so I may not be the best judge of this movie. So why did I watch it? Because I hear how beautiful Delores Del Rio ( Rita) was and I have seen her before and was not impressed ( unlike better looking and better acting Latinas Salma Haysk, Maria Conchita Alonso, Linda Cristal and Lupe Velez). Guess what? I am still not impressed with her. Pat O'Brien was a drunk and not a very good character, and Edward Everett Horton is one of these actors I try and avoid because he always plays the same character. If the term "Soy Boy" existed years ago it would fit him. What did I like? Glenda Farrell. She was a knockout and I would choose Farrell over Del Rio any day of the week, and Spoilers Ahead:,I never understood why O'Brien picked Del Rio over her., I give In Caliente 2 stars. Both for Farrell.
