When this movie came out nearly 35 years ago, it bombed at the box office despite its hype and based on a best selling book series. It soon became a cult hit on home video and on tv, and spawned a sequel in the form of a tv pilot that never got picked up for a series and a remake in the works from Shane Black. This film is known for its ending in which Remo is near the statue of Liberty while its under renovation. At the time of filming, Lady Liberty was undergoing her redo before she reopened in 1986 just in time for her centennial.
