. . . Mr. Chaplin's "Little Tramp" character with launching both the World Wide "Stranger Danger" Pandemic and a Global Eugenics Movement about a century ago, in the early years of the 1900's. A DOG'S LIFE exemplifies what all the fuss was about. The Tramp comes off as Public Enemy #1, assaulting and battering multiple peace officers, robbing various food vendors blind and threatening the Public Health as a Major Hygiene Menace, bedding down and presumably doing his business anywhere he pleases on private and public lands at all hours of the day. It is little wonder that The Tramp prompted mass sterilizations in Real Life, and created a generation of kids terrified of hobos.
