There seems to be several films mixed up here; a mystery story, a science fiction story, a quirky teens story and a convicted prisoners story. Which means it doesn't really gel into a convincing whole. It looks great however, giving a gritty look to Moon 44 where most of the movie is set and with only a few drops of CGI. The physical effects look solid not lightweight like digital often does. In its favour it has Malcolm McDowell as the villain, not in it much but always welcome. And it has Lisa Eichhorn, nuff said. It also has Brian Thompson in a rare heroic role. His demise in the film packs an emotional punch. A film good to look at then but routine plot-wise.
The great Roscoe Lee Browne is also in it playing the company chairman but is strangely not given a credit.
